Michael B. Paauwe

​

Forensic Accountant and Management Consultant on Tax disputes, Estate, Divorce and Business Litigation for over 30 years. Worked with lawyers on various legal and business cases including wrongful dismissal, professional negligence, securities, insurance, strata, banking, tax, fraud, embezzlement, high net worth divorce litigation and family estate disputes; consulted on facts, evidence, financial disclosures, pleadings, strategies and financial settlement.

 

Professional musician starting age 15 to 22 played tenor saxophone 8 years in various bands, winning the CFUN Vancouver Battle of the Bands with the Blues Crusade, an 8 piece R&B band.

 

Soccer Coach Island Cup Winner Under 11 Boys, awarded “Most Outstanding Team in the Tournament” coaching 10 year old boys as winners U11 in the Island Cup. 

 

Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of two public companies for 18 years. Director of four public companies for 23 years. Audit Committee Chairman and Independent Director for 5 years.​

British Columbia Institute of Technology 2 year program graduated with honors June 1974.

Special Tax Audit Training Program 16 months​

16 months full-time TIRL Program training program at the Vancouver Tax Centre (now CRA) classroom lectures and workshops  on business auditing and income tax law.  

 

Certified General Accountant 

Graduated as a Certified General Accountant from the CGA Association of British Columbia June 1980 (advanced tax option), retired in good standing 1998. 18 years corporate governance and finance securities

Government tax auditor for 9 years. Completed over 300 audits Federal National Revenue (CRA) and BC Ministry of Finance under 8 different tax statutes.

Businessman and Corporate Executive Officer

​

Prospectus Director of Silver Princess Resources on IPO share price rose from $.25 to $6.25 in 2 years.

Founded and managed Microfuel Technologies for 10 years, reached a peak stock market value of $200 million.

President Titan Trading Analytics for 8 years conducted software research and technology development of AI applications in financial trading systems until 2002.

Independent Management and Forensic Accounting Consultant

Started Michael Paauwe & Associates in 2003 in Nanaimo B.C. management consulting and forensic audit accounting services in litigation and divorce up to 2023.

​

Chairman of the Audit Committee and Director, First Global Investments, West Vancouver, BC - 5 yrs ended 2020.

 

Provided business and project management on real estate development projects, new construction and sale of +325 new homes, town homes and condo projects on Vancouver Island until November 2023.

Started Island Forensics in late 2024 launched early 2025.
